  • Islam & Manchester: Why does a special rule apply to Islam that is not granted to any other Religion or Group?

After “Manchester,” there was complete silence in the British media and within British politics about the fact that the perpetrators and those who took responsibility for the act of terror invoked Islam. It is a worthy aim to have the desire to prevent innocent individuals, in this case Muslims around the world, from being thrown into a maelstrom where they are prejudged. However, this is certainly not how the problems will be solved.

Visit on the occasion of the retirement of Patriarch Gregor III Laham in Beirut

After our visit of the President of Lebanon we met Patriarch Gregory III Laham in front of the President’s palace, as the Pope had just excepted his resignation at age 84 and he officially said farewell to the President. Two Christians in Sudan are free – Thanks to the Efforts of the WEA

In December 2015, three Christians in the Sudan were arrested – a local pastor, one of his co-workers, and one Czech aid worker. The charges did not directly have to do with religion. Rather, they officially had to do with criminal actions against the state which could have promoted revolution. Nevertheless, what developed were worldwide protests.
