Prof. Dr. phil. h.c. Moritz Hunzinger, Member of the Supervisory Board of the National Pedagogical University named after MP Drahomanova, together with the rector of the teaching and methodological work of the humanities faculty, Prof. Igor Vetrov, and the dean, Prof. Vladimir Evtukh, former minister and ambassador, visited the Christmas reception, which was organized by His Holiness, the Patriarch of Kyiv and All Russia-Ukraine Filaret. A representative of the German religious leaders was Bishop Prof. Dr. theol Thomas Schirrmacher, who was invited by Professor Moritz Hunzinger to Kiev.
The president of the International Council of the International Society for Human Rights, Thomas Schirrmacher, visited “Babi Yar”, the memorial site for the massacre of Jews and Roma, carried out by German forces.
The Institute of Human Rights along with the Institute of Religion and Beliefs co-organized a scientific seminar titled “Limits of Religious Freedom Rights” on March 6th, 2018 with the participation of lecturers and researchers from these two institutes, a large number of master’s students majored in Laws of Human Rights and Religious studies.
An “Observatory on FoRB in the CPLP”, the Observatory on Freedom of Religion or Belief in the Comunidade de Países de Língua Portuguesa, is currently in the process of being implemented by the International Institute for Religious Freedom (IIRF).
The President of the International Society for Human Rights (ISHR), Professor Thomas Schirrmacher, met in Kiev (Ukraine) with leading lawyers and human rights defenders from that country.
Upon request of the German Foundation for Legal Cooperation (IRZ) on behalf of the Federal Government, an expert discussion about human rights was held on the premises of the International Society for Human Rights (IGFM) in Frankfurt, with an eight-member delegation of the Vietnamese Institute for Human Rights (VIMR), which was sent by their government. The VIMR ist the most important human rights institution of the country.
