On 11 and 12 July, Thomas Schirrmacher and Matthias Boehning visited Tajikistan for an exploration mission focused on the state of human rights in the Central Asian country.
Thomas Paul Schirrmacher, ISHR-President and author of several books on the history of slavery, human trafficking and racism, has visited two of the most important historical memorials to the intercontinental slave trade in Ghana and Zanzibar.

Schirrmacher declared, that ISHR mainly exists to protect human rights defenders (HRD) and is proud to have so many of them in their ranks.
