ARTICLE I have been ask to provide a short version of my essay ‘Do We Need a Special Ethics for the Last Days?’. Peirong Lin, our research coordinator, was so nice to provide it, here it is.
Leading figures in the world’s largest Muslim organization and the world’s largest Evangelical Christian organization announced today that they are undertaking an ambitious joint effort to reshape how the world thinks about religion and to counter two threats to religious freedom and to society more broadly: religious extremism and secular extremism.
Christine and Thomas Schirrmacher have visited Lutheran churches on four of the five main islands of the Faroe Islands at the end of last year. They attended the service of the Hósvíkar Church, visited a confirmation class in the Sandavadur Church and documented about half of the 58 churches on the island.
With these words, Prof. Dr. Daniel Philpott from the University of Notre Dame opened Thomas Schirrmacher’s lecture in the Pontifical University Urbaniana in December 2015.
Thomas Schirrmacher congratulated the head of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania, Anastasios Yannoulatos (90), upon receiving the 2020 Klaus Hemmerle Prize and described him as one of the most important living missions and religious studies scholars.
At its annual conference, the Evangelische Forum für Mission, Kultur und Religion e. V. (Evangelical Forum for Mission, Culture and Religion), briefly named ‘missiotop’, which belongs to the Evangelical Alliance in Germany, elected Dr. Martin Heißwolf as its new chairman.
