Bartholomew, the Orthodox Patriarch of Constantinople, has initiated the recognition of another independent Orthodox Church in Ukraine. In an interview with pro, Thomas Schirrmacher, Chairman of the Theological Commission of the World Evangelical Alliance, explains the process in Ukraine.
Schirrmacher speaks at book launch to the Ecumenical Patriarch and other heads of churches in Turkey
On the occasion of a meeting of the heads of all major churches and confessions of Turkey at the Armenian Patriarchate in Istanbul, the Associate Secretary General Bishop Thomas Schirrmacher introduced Dr Nikolay (Nik) Nedelchev personally to Bartholomew I, who as Archbishop of Constantinople and Ecumenical Patriarch is the spiritual leader of 300 million Orthodox Christians worldwide.
